Here at Pear Stairs, we are taking the opportunity to reflect on the last year, we hope this blog allows room for creativity and inspiration, providing you with fresh ideas for your next project.

SOUTHWATER

It is no surprise that Southwater was shortlisted for our top 5 staircases of 2022, with its grand design following a traditional appeal with a contemporary twist.

A unique design which perfectly executes the open space within the property. Crafted with a straight flight, clients were seeking a statement whilst keeping in line with the property’s minimalistic aesthetic.  Redwood was used for the entirety of the staircase, opting for some white-primed components to create a noticeable contrast.

Taking inspiration from the current trends of 2022, clients opted for a metal balustrade. Metal Spindles have been extremely popular this year and are increasing in demand, we think the addition of metal within this typically traditional staircase creates a striking contrast.

DIGSWELL

This straight flight required meticulous planning, clients wanted to add their own unique twist to this flight, deciding to add an open-riser style. Instead of the usual straight riser, a curved riser was opted for creating a stunning ambience when reflecting light.

The Halfele LED lighting that was installed complements the Oak components of this flight, creating a cosy effect. This is a prime example of how a more straightforward staircase can be transformed into a pivotal attraction in your home.

The glass balustrade chosen for the flight allows natural like to emit throughout the staircase and living area, further enhanced by the open-riser style.

FOXHAT

Quite literally a piece of art! This staircase was made bespoke by the Pear Stairs team, clients wanted a somewhat simple staircase with a big personality. Crafted from entirely Oak components for a more natural approach.

Clients have taken careful consideration with this design, and working closely with our team they were able to create this very minimalistic yet futuristic-looking flight. Selecting an open-riser style, to promote the emission of organic light throughout the property.

The flight immediately invites you at the beginning with the inclusion of a bullnose step. An immense emphasis has been planned on the linear elements, focusing on the balustrade. Vertical and Horizontal lines are used to draw the eye.

HITCHHALE

A central point for this barn conversion renovation, this staircase does exactly what was originally proposed. Clients wanted the addition of a new staircase for their property that was going to catch people’s hearts, after long discussions with our design team, this was the final product.

Seeking a contemporary feel to their originally traditional barn conversion, clients wanted a mixture of materials. The half-turn landing style is designed from entirely Oak components, complementing the already-present exposed timber tones within the property.

The Pear Stairs team explored the option of an open-riser theme to ensure the promotion of natural lighting, which was boasted by the elongated clerestory window.

Adding to the character of the property, and meeting the client's initial needs, Hitchhale is a well-accomplished design.

WESTON FIELDS

A strong contender for the Pear Stairs Top 5 staircases of 2022, this simple quarter-landing staircase provides hints of traditional and contemporary. Screaming loud minimalism with the use of a neutral colour pallet that is well-matched in consideration of the rest of the property.

Featuring a metal balustrade, providing a bold contrast against the white-primed components of the majority of the flight. Using our popular Contemporary Metal Spindles in the style Camlad and Brecon.

The emphasised double D-end step greets users at the entrance, this proves perfect utilisation of the open space within the room setting. The addition of a feature step offers a significant definition to the flight, as seen in this project, creating a stunning display.

The Pear Stairs team took pleasure in taking on this project, with this design proving worthy of our top 5 this year.
