The landing joists we sell are either for a quarter landing as the above picture and the 3D drawing below.

Or the landing joists we sell will be for a half landing as below.

Note 1. The dimension 'X' should be no greater than 300mm.

Note 2. Pear Stairs sell :

Quarter Landing : 100mm x 50mm PAR redwood structural joists (4" x 2").
Half Landing : 150mm x 50mm PAR redwood structural joists (6" x 2").

Tongue and groove boarding is called in the industry T&G Boarding 145mm x 22mm planned. This means that 145mm x 22mm is planned down to physical dimensions of 137mm x 18mm to attain the required shape, see below:

You start by screwing down your first board underneath the skirting boards and then fixing your first nail or screw at an angle into the joists. This is called secret nailing an offers a much more professional finish.

You can then fix your skirting to the wall and there should be no nails or screws showing.
