The type of bespoke staircase that our expert designers and joiners enjoy crafting, this straight flight required meticulous planning. Exquisite in the end result, the Pear Stairs team worked extremely closely with the on-site joiner throughout the whole process to get everything right.

Manufactured from Oak, the stair components were selected carefully in order to get the desired finish that makes this staircase such a design feature. Thick 42mm oak treads were chosen with a 4mm square nosed finish and curved 18mm risers to form the steps. Held in place by closed oak strings that allow for this unique half-open riser style.

To match the natural chunky look from the thick treads, oak square newel posts and a 60mm x 60mm oak handrail is used on both balustrades. Hosting 10mm thick glass that seamlessly fits within the grooves, this staircase boosts the natural light that enters this room from the return balustrade, brightening both the staircase space and the living area.

For a magnificent finishing touch, the joiner fitted Hafele LED lights up both sides which can be turned on and off via a smartphone or switches on the wall. An excellent example in terms of how to turn a standard straight staircase into an outstanding design feature in your home, everyone involved in the project is pleased with the end result.
