Refurbish Your Old Staircase

Revamping your home is a fantastic idea – but what about the staircase? Here at Pear Stairs, we can transform the entire look of your property with a staircase renovation or refurbishment.

A staircase renovation is a simple way to update your home – breathing new life into an old, tired staircase. Often there is little wrong with the actual staircase frame, and a staircase renovation allows you to make simple aesthetic improvements that make a real difference – like changing the balustrade or updating newel caps.

A staircase refurbishment with Pear Stairs can help you to create the impression of a brand new staircase installation – but for a fraction of the cost – so you needn’t worry about keeping up with the latest styles and trends.

Whether you’re looking to achieve a contemporary, minimalistic look or something more grand and traditional, a staircase refurbishment is an excellent choice. Our renovation team is happy to help you every step of the way and will make sure the refurbishment suits your style needs and complements your property.

If you’d like to find out how a small change can make a real difference, get in touch with us via our online enquiry form, call us on 01938 553 311 or email, and we will do everything we can to assist.

However, if you’re looking for some inspiration, check out our amazing transformations. Many of our customers chose to purchase products from our online shop to ensure the best possible results. Why not do the same?

Many of our customers chose to refurbish their existing staircases by purchasing products from our on-line shop  to produce the following amazing transformations.

Lamsey Road Refurbishment

A complete new entry was made for the main stairs, in order to knock a door through in the hallway. The balustrade is American white oak Georgian.

Pasendena Refurbishment

An old fashioned fill balustrade is replaced by beautiful traditional balusters that incorporate five pairs of inset beads into the turned area for a decorative but tasteful look.

Hibberd Refurbishment

Here is a great example of what can be achieved by replacing a dated ranch rail with a sleek modern glass balustrade. The timber newels of these stairs are clad with 10mm mitred oak, the string is clad with a 4mm oak veneered plywood, and there is a new oak handrail and baserail.

4 .

Newman Staircase

This staircase has been made over by replacing 25mm plain square spindles with 41mm stop-chamfered redwood spindles. The continuous handrail has been replaced with a sapele standard pear handrail with matching pyramid newel caps, and the cut string has been altered to a closed string for a neat line. The stairs have been given a fresh coat of white gloss paint, while the handrail and pyramid caps have been oiled to bring out the natural colour and grain in the timber.

5. Renowden Refurbishment

An excellent example of how a staircase can be modernised without replacing the actual tread and risers. The American white oak parts are from Pear Stairs, and the toughened glass and clamps complete this ultra-modern transformation.
