Lamsey Road Refurbishment

A complete new entry was made for the main stairs, in order to knock a door through in the hallway. The balustrade is American white oak Georgian.

Pasendena Refurbishment

An old fashioned fill balustrade is replaced by beautiful traditional balusters that incorporate five pairs of inset beads into the turned area for a decorative but tasteful look.

Hibberd Refurbishment

Here is a great example of what can be achieved by replacing a dated ranch rail with a sleek modern glass balustrade. The timber newels of these stairs are clad with 10mm mitred oak, the string is clad with a 4mm oak veneered plywood, and there is a new oak handrail and baserail.

Newman Staircase

This staircase has been made over by replacing 25mm plain square spindles with 41mm stop-chamfered redwood spindles. The continuous handrail has been replaced with a sapele standard pear handrail with matching pyramid newel caps, and the cut string has been altered to a closed string for a neat line. The stairs have been given a fresh coat of white gloss paint, while the handrail and pyramid caps have been oiled to bring out the natural colour and grain in the timber.

5. Renowden Refurbishment

An excellent example of how a staircase can be modernised without replacing the actual tread and risers. The American white oak parts are from Pear Stairs, and the toughened glass and clamps complete this ultra-modern transformation.
