Staircase Steps and Risers.

1.

If a customer phones Pear Stairs and says I have a finished floor to finished floor height of 2700mm and asks us what are the number of risers, as a guide we would look up the following chart:

Our answer would be either 13 risers or 14 risers.

Staircase Going And Rise.

2.

If a customer phones Pear Stairs and says I have a rise 213mm, what is my minimum going, as a guide we would look up the following chart:

Our answer would be 238mm.

Staircase Finished Floor To Finished Floor Height.

3.

If a customer phones Pear Stairs and says I have a finished floor to finished floor height of 2700mm and asks what is the number of risers with the minimum going, we combine Chart 1 and 2 to give:

Our answer would be:

 

14 risers gives- 220 minimum going
13 risers gives - 232 minimum going

To meet the building regulations which states that the maximum angle of a staircase is 42°.
