Glue Block

Glue Blocks are triangular shaped small wood blocks that are attached to the underside of the stair at the junction of the riser and tread. These secure the risers and treads together and will help to prevent movement which will minimise any squeaks.

Using a glue block under each step is a successful method of strengthening the joints between riser and tread is to use "glue blocks". The glue blocks need to be placed near each corner, and it’s recommended you add one in the middle on wider staircases.
