Newel caps can be an inexpensive way to personalise a staircase and the various designs can provide different aesthetic appearances. Newel Caps are usually used at the top of newel post, but they can also be fitted upside down at the bottom of a newel post, when it drops below the level of the stairs, to complement the cap on the top of the newel post.
