998. The Old Bakehouse

An exciting renovation project to be a part of, helping convert this old bakehouse into a cosy modern alehouse was an enjoyable challenge for the Pear Stairs team.

Assisting during the whole process due to the locality of this project; our on-site expert staircase measurer visited the site to get the exact measurements required. Due to the layout of the building being narrow, it was important for the staircase to take up minimal space whilst still complying with building regulations. For this reason, we worked closely with the owners to discuss the different design features and styles available to create an exquisite staircase that beautifully blends into the design scheme.

Carefully selected, the square oak handrail and 32mm square nosed treads match the natural finish of the timber beams; whilst the softwood 35mm square spindles and square posts were painted on-site in a cool grey for a splash of contemporary style.

Continuing in the same style along the return balustrade, this finished staircase looks outstanding in this new business venture.
