There is a beautiful contrast between the materials used in this landing staircase design. The treads, handrails and newel caps have been made with black walnut; a timber with a deep and luxurious colour to it. The walnut has been paired with white primed spindles, risers, and strings for a powerful effect that highlights the enticing textures of the wood. The balustrade features stop ovolo spindles and newels, a profile that has a subtle groove along the corner edges for an additional visual flourish. At the bottom of the flight are twin stacked feature steps. The bottom step has a D-end design that loops back in on the newel post while the step above it has a bullnose design that leads into the front of the newel post.
