964. Asprey External Staircase

This treated redwood staircase was created to complete the rear side of a property, connecting the outdoor and indoor spaces. An open-riser design has been used as this minimises the chance of water collecting on the treads and causing damage. Open risers also allows air to pass through, meaning the structure is resilient against strong winds. These stairs are supported by elongated landing newel posts that reach to the ground, the posts have been finished off with pyramid newel caps.
