Leading to a loft conversion, the 41mm stop-chamfered spindles, newels, pyramid caps and handrail in this single winder staircase are all made from American white oak. As the stairs were to be carpeted, we used whitewood treads, MDF winder treads and ply risers to keep costs down. The client painted the strings white to make an attractive contrast.
