346. Rutland Gardens Staircase
Essex
A single winder staircase manufactured using two different timbers. The handrails and treads are in sapele with the remainder of the staircase and components in softwood which has been white primed. The 35mm spindles are square, as are the newel posts, which are finished with pyramid caps. To reduce cost, the handrail and treads received a dark stain on site to give an attractive walnut appearance.
