331. Hampshire House Staircase

A very unusual staircase designed to achieve a winding effect. The visible parts are in ash. Softwood treads, MDF winders and ply risers were used as the stairs were to be fully carpeted. An oversized newel post has been incorporated, not only to carry the winder treads, but to support an ash capping, a well-chosen addition to the overall scheme.
