262. The Sutton Hill Staircase
Telford
Shropshire
A great example of an American white oak open riser staircase, complete with stop-chamfered posts and spindles, with a double D-end feature step at the bottom. The client decided on an open riser design to allow more light into the hall.
Our Customer Said:
I wanted a staircase for my home recording studio that would take up minimal space whilst matching the natural wood style of the building. Having contacted Pear Stairs, they quickly came up with a design. After a few modifications to the original plan, the staircase went into production. The staircase arrived via courier, bubble wrapped with screws and fittings boxed up - the assembly job was ready to commence. Never having fitted a staircase before, I unwrapped everything to get an idea of how it might all fit together. After a call to the technical team at Pear Stairs I was given some useful tips on putting it all together. As there was no rush to assemble the staircase I worked with the help of my wife over a few days, fitting all the right parts in all the right places. Everything went together well and fitted perfectly. The staircase was lightly rubbed down and given a coat of Danish Oil - the installation was complete! Everyone that visits the studio comments on the staircase and how nice it looks.
