252. Newman Staircase Refurbishment

The staircase has had a complete makeover, replacing the 25mm square spindles with 41mm stop-chamfered redwood spindles. The cut-string was changed to a closed string, and the continuous handrail was replaced with a sapele standard pear handrail with matching pyramid newel caps. The stairs were given a fresh coat of white gloss paint, while the handrail and pyramid caps were oiled to bring out the lovely grain in the timber.
