123. Rosebank Stairs

shrewley

Warwickshire

A combination of American white oak and redwood has been cleverly used to produce a very impressive entrance to the staircase. It was designed to fit into an awkward space and you will notice that, to achieve this, angular newel posts and an extra-large winder support newel were used. The first part of the stairway has been designed as a cut-string, as this part is visible from the ground floor; the remainder is closed string. The risers are in a painted softwood, contrasting well against the superior grained oak. A carpet runner finishes off a well thought out project.
