A family from Bridgend contacted the Design Team at Pear Stairs with a vision of a bespoke t-shape that would serve as the centrepiece for their property. The t-shape staircase design was chosen for its grandeur and functionality, fitting seamlessly into the spacious foyer.
Premium oak was selected as the main material for its durability with the family knowing that this staircase would stand the test of time. Oak also has a very distinctive beautiful grain pattern which was favoured by the clients.
The design features a splayed effect on entrance which adds a modern twist to the classic design. This was emphasised using our continuous handrail for an uninterrupted flow.
The staircase not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of their home but also added significant value. This type of design is one that our team take pride in creating, making it a very special one!
Our Customer Said:
This is a complicated design that doesn’t fall under any false illusion. It needs a lot of joinery skill and painstaking time to put together. With a conventional joinery shop-made staircase I think the handrails for example would have come in fewer bits and we would have had some more precise drawings to work from to help us put this together. Thankfully I have access to an old boy, old school chippie who made a cracking job of all the compound joints and mitres, and all the spindles had to be pretty much carved on the bends, but everything did go together well…. No mean feat for Pear Stairs either I would have to say so well done to them. And of course, the other thing is that a conventional joinery shop may have had a bigger price tag as well…. As you can see the finished product is great with the cut strings and continuous handrail and the volutes – a fitting staircase for a very nice house. Another thing I ought to say is that I was let down by another supplier and they stepped in at the last minute and pulled out all the stops to get it made in time for Christmas ’23….. so, Thank you Pear Stairs!! I have used you many times in the past and will continue to give you a chance to price ongoing.
