Seeking a statement staircase to enhance their home's interior, clients from Sussex approached the Pear Stairs team with plans for a contemporary-themed flight.

The winder staircase was designed with open risers to allow unobstructed views through the staircase to complement the modern aesthetic of the home, sleek black metal spindles were chosen for the balustrade in the style Dovey, adding a touch of contemporary elegance to the design.

Oak was chosen as the material for the entire flight, featuring our square posts and slender hand and base rails. The oak helped to seamlessly blend in with the existing decor and strong timber presence throughout the property's design.

One of the key design considerations was positioning the staircase in front of the feature window to capitalise on the breathtaking views beyond. This strategic placement not only framed the outdoor scenery but also followed natural light to flood the staircase, enhancing the sense of spaciousness and airiness.
