Dreaming of a staircase that combined the charm of a built-in bookcase with a secret door leading to their dining room, a local family from Wrexham got in touch with the Pear Stairs team to create their bespoke vision.

The main aim was to design a staircase that connected different levels of the house, whilst serving as a functional library space. A hidden door, cleverly disguised as a bookshelf, was installed within the bookcase. The addition of a hidden door behind the bookcase added an element of surprise and intrigue. The outcome was this grand t-shape flight that seamlessly blended with the interior of the property.

Swaying towards a more traditional appeal, oak was used for the majority of the staircase which features exposure of its natural grain. A double d-end feature step was incorporated into the design, adding drama and visual appeal. Clients decided they wanted to add a deep grey plush carpet to the stairs, leaving the feature steps exposed not wanting to compromise their beauty.

This project was one our team is delighted to be a part of, perfectly showcasing how you can tailor a staircase to your needs and interior dreams.
