Seeking to modernise their property with a statement staircase, homeowners from Surrey decided on this contemporary design featuring a bold open-riser style. The project spanned over two floors, combining the timeless beauty of oak with the allure of glass.

Wanting a stand-out feature, clients utilised larger components than the usual flight. This includes 42mm strings, treads, square posts, square handrails, and pyramid newel caps, finished with an apron nosing and cover mould. In line with the glass theme, a 10mm glass riser was incorporated into the design, this allowed for the movement of light in and around the staircase

To enhance the modern appearance of the flight, a glass balustrade was integrated to complement the natural oak structure, offering a clear and elegant view of the staircase. The glass balustrade was meticulously fitted to meet safety standards while maintaining a seamless and unobtrusive appearance.
