Proud owners of a historic property in Shropshire sought help from the Pear Stairs team to improve access to their recently renovated loft conversion which featured a charming timber beam that added character to their home. The challenge was to design a staircase that provided safe and stylish access over the timber beam.
Seeking something with a traditional style to match the property's existing interior, a mixture of redwood, whitewood, and plywood was used to minimise costs. Due to the landing design of the first flight, a storage cupboard was incorporated to maximise functionality.
Both flights feature 32mm strings and 21mm treads for a slimmer display, finalised with square posts, spindles, and pyramid newel caps.
The new staircase enhanced the aesthetic of the client's home whilst preserving the property's historical charm, pairing functionality and pleasure.
