Looking to rejuvenate their home's interior, a couple from Surrey got in contact with Pear Stairs to create their dream flight. A contemporary elegance was incorporated within their design by adding a prominent feature step on arrival, utilising a squared-off approach in line with the clean-cut lines of the overall staircase with the use of stop chamfered spindles and pyramid newel caps.

To achieve a fresh, modern look, the redwood transformed with a white-primer finish. This step helped to introduce a clean and airy feel to the space, whilst also serving as a blank canvas, allowing for personalisation.

The addition of a grey carpet runner along the length of the staircase brought an element of comfort, practicality, and luxury. The grey hue of the carpet was chosen to complement the theme of the property, and its texture adding depth to the design. The carpet runner also provided safety by minimising slip hazards.

This project showcases the potential of incorporating design elements that enhance not only the visual appeal but also the functionality and safety of a central architectural feature within a home.
