Seeking a creative solution to access a mezzanine level without sacrificing their compact living area, clients from Hampshire approached our design team at Pear Stairs. The project involved the
design and construction of a custom, space-saving staircase with paddle steps tailored to meet the client's requirements. The goal was to create a staircase that seamlessly integrated into the existing layout while maximizing the available space.

Redwood was used to craft the entire flight, which was left unfinished in preparation for clients to complete work on the property before incorporating the interior in line with the planned designs and furnishings.

Despite its space-saving design, the paddle steps staircase maintained practical functionality. Each paddle step was designed to ensure sufficient tread depth and comfortable foot placement. The handrail was positioned to provide stability and support enhancing user safety.
