Local clients from Powys were exploring options for a traditional staircase for their newly renovated property, they wanted the focus of the flight to be the addition of modern twists to be incorporated into the stairs which blended seamlessly.
After working with our design team, a half-turn landing style was chosen using a mixture of materials like Whitewood, Plywood, and Oak with plans to carpet after completion which helps bring the cost down. Oak was used on the visible areas to match the existing wooden features within the interior.
The addition of our contemporary black metal spindles adds character to the staircase, whilst also giving the flight a modern touch. A one-every-three approach was utilised using spindles in the styles of Cambrian and Snowdon. The spindles have been secured with our matching black metal brackets.
A feature step was added for an enhanced grandeur display. The single D-End step creates visual interest in an otherwise simple staircase, whilst breaking up the monotony of a straight run of stairs to promote a focal point that draws the eye. Clients decided to carpet the entire flight except for the feature step for a more dramatic impact.
Our Customer Said:
I recently had a staircase with metal spindlesinstalled in my home, and I absolutely love it! The combination of the metal spindles with the natural wood handrail and treads creates a beautiful modern look that is both sleek and sophisticated.
