Charmouth

West Dorset

A bold staircase to match this beautiful property in West Dorset, following the style of a simple winder in order to create character within the space. Without wanting to compromise the large, open feel that is emitted from the clerestory window, carefully selected to maximise daylight.

Our client was looking for something that would be cost-effective and easy to paint, as a result, the staircase is constructed from a combination of Whitewood and Redwood, including 32mm strings, 21mm treads, and 18mm risers.

On entrance, the flight welcomes you with an open step featuring a double D-End, topped with a Bullnose step above it. Following a closed-string style, the entire staircase introduces a symmetrical display with the addition of slender handrails, chamfered spindles, and pyramid newel caps in keeping with the prominent lines to match the existing furnishings within the property.

Our Customer Said:

The online stair builder was easy to use and I had great communication/clarification about the specification before it was finally sent for manufacture. The softwood stairs look great and it was easy to order extra spindles online to do a small handrail elsewhere. Assembled in a few days, painting almost finished as you can see from photo. Value for money too, definitely comparable, cheaper than others online.
