Recommended to Pear Stairs by a friend, this client needed two bespoke landing staircases to fit above one another for this property in Surrey.
A unique challenge that required our expert design team to work closely with the carpenter throughout, the end result is an exquisite set of staircases that adhere to all building regulations, with the bottom staircase providing structural support to the one above.
Both manufactured from softwood, at Pear Stairs we supplied the treads, risers, strings and newel posts, with the client sourcing the balustrade and glass themselves.
A testament to the level of detail that our designers work to, the landing newels had to be perfectly aligned on top of each other. This was necessary to both provide a foundation to support the structure of the top staircase and ensure that the outsourced handrails would be able to run straight from the bottom of the first staircase to the top of the second flight.
Finished by painting the newel posts white and the addition of a cream carpet, the final result is a stunning design feature that spans three storeys.
