The beautiful Oxford range is enhanced by elegant fluting. The Fluted Oxford range provides an aesthetically pleasing turned detail in a full range of newel posts and spindles with the benefit of fluted detail to the turned part. Like the Georgian fluted baluster, this design is ideal for showcasing the texture and quality of the material used. These newel posts are produced in a choice of softwoods and hardwoods to suit any style and budget so you can easily improve and existing staircase or build a new one.
Materials used to produce these newel posts include Southern Yellow Pine, with its distinctive character in both colour and grain with just a limited number of small knots and a comparable strength to oak; Sapele, a West African hardwood, with a reddish-brown colouring, and a close texture that make this timber harder and heavier than both American and South American Mahogany; and American White Ash, a quality American hardwood that can be stained and polished to a very good finish.
PST-1, PST-2, PST-3, PST-4, PST-5, Pulpit PST-4 newel posts – the different types of newel post allow you to build a balustrade that matches your individual specifications.
