Pear Stairs don't just make unique staircases they also make and supply a comprehensive range of staircase components available in a variety of Softwood and Hardwood timbers.

Our most popular ranges of stair parts are our timber parts. We can supply you with all the parts necessary to build a brand-new staircase or renovate or repair an old staircase. Whichever part you want to replace, we can supply it. All our staircase components are sanded to a high-quality finish, with most parts available in a selection of timber, including Oak, Pine, Sapele, US White Ash, White Wood, and White Primed.

All our wooden products are manufactured to exceedingly high standards in the UK, and we offer them at competitive prices. Components you’ll find include spindles, newel posts and caps, base and handrails, volutes, and all other parts, including treads, infills, landings, and risers. We also supply parts for feature steps, such as bullnose and d-end steps, and parts that allow for either over-the-post or post-to-post handrails.

Our timber parts are produced in a range of different styles that you can combine or mix and match to create your own unique design. Current styles include the simple designs of blank, stop ovolo, and stop chamfer spindles; highly decorative twist and traditional spindles; and the popular Oxford, Georgian, and provincial spindles.

Softwood makes up around 80% of timber, they are of a lower density than most Hardwoods. Hardwood grows at a much slower rate than Softwood and is found in most high-quality staircases due to their longevity, and increased difficulty to work with. This in hand, typically makes Hardwood the more expensive choice of wood.
